This is a pastel study of my dog Max sleeping in his basket, I spent about half an hour on the sketch working through layers of pastel to try and achieve the effect of his messy hair.

To all who suggested ideas for naming the the magazine, many thanks. Well, we've gone and done it, lashed-out and bought the dot com. ArCuViBoc or rather Arts et Cultures Vivants en Bocage, yes folks, that's the name of our association. A small art group consisting mainly of beginners, but hey you have to start somewhere! Our group started in March with just 5, comprising the schoolteacher, who set it all going, the school bus driver and his wife, some local villagers and yours truly and has now grown to a healthy 9. These pics are of some of the class slaving away this week in a classroom with a plastic roof and I am sure, tin walls, because we were melting, it was so hot.... they do say that you have to suffer for your art, I just hope that when we have our exhibition (we are planning on one sometime), everyone appreciates the effort of painting in temperatures of at least 100 degrees. Well that's what it felt like!!! We have moved on from drawing perspective, during April and May to painting in Acrylics, (June), which I have never really tried before and I am finding them so much fun.
