Archive for July, 2006
You would think that July would be really warm and sunny, but, this is Normandy and we visited The Holly Tree in St Maur des Bois to watch a group of Morris Dancers called Owlswick Morris who were over from the UK.
The weather being like it is these brave dancers still went ahead and delighted us all with a display of traditional dance complete with umberella.

As you can see from the photos even with the rain a good time was had by all. Tour bagman Richard Davis who lives over here in Normandy is on the lookout for any one who is interested in joining and forming a local morris dancing troup.
You can contact Richard on 06.87.04.58.05 for more info. Give it a go as it is great fun and good exercise.

Denham Productions are seeking contributors for their westcountry series of Three Men In a Bus (sequel to Three Grumpy Old Men In a Boat). We would like to hear from expats, preferably from the westcountry area of England, living in Brittany and Normandy who want to express their views and opinions about living in France. What you do and don't miss about living in England, and why France is better ... or worse! This can be anything from the lack of decent tea and baked beans, to feeling your home is becoming more like little Britain and less like Bretagne as increasing numbers of expats move to the area. Plus, if you can help provide information regarding any of the following, then Suzi, our researcher, would like to hear from you. Any farmers who have moved from the UK to France to farm.
Anyone who makes their own cheese - or has a neighbour that does!
Where our presenters can join in with a game of petanque / boules tournament.
If there are any vineyards (and regional wines) in Brittany and Normandy.
A friendly bar where our crew can film locals having their "heart starters" in the morning.
A travelling cider distiller.
A village that has more British expats living in it then the French.
Any local "characters" (French or English!)
If you can help, would like to contribute or would like to know more please contact Suzi by emailing: suzie.bostel@denhams.tv
