What started out a school trip to a careers convention in Caen on the 19th November, turned into a very nasty accident for 38 school children and their teachers from Juvigny le Tetre, the driver lost control of the coach after being clipped by an on - coming milk tanker. The coach then hit the rocks on the verge and ended up skidding along the rocky bank for some distance, throwing the passengers from their seats. The passenger side windows shattered and blew in injuring many children with flying glass. The coach finally came to rest when it hit a granite rock.

A school assistant was very seriously injured, her arm was badly damaged after being dragged along by the bus as it hit the rocks in the ditch. She was heard to scream "my arms gone" by the children, after lifting the coach by crane, she was then air lifted to hospital by helicopter to Caen CHU. 11 children also needed hospital treatment and were taken to Avranches and St Hilaire hospitals.

Over 40 sapeurs pompiers and 8 ambulances arrived at the scene of the accident within minutes from St Pois and other outlying districts. All the children and staff not seriously injured where taken to St Pois where they were then treated at the Salle de Fete. They were kept there until midday, when they were then taken back to school for lunch and were kept in school under observation and care by doctors.

There is now an investigation by the Brecéy police.

Advertise for free here.

We can write an advertorial about your business and add a link to your website so people can see more information about your services.

Why is it Free?

Normandy Magazine is sponsored by PennyGraphics, it is part of the free services that Penny offers to businesses based in Normandy. As well as offering websites from just 75€ or £75 Penny knows the importance of advertising and marketing any business especially during the current financial climate when everyone is watching those "pennies".

As Penny said "We know how difficult it can be for any new venture and especially so in another country to contact new clients and get themselves seen to a wider audience than just those who read the local newspaper. So we have created a few websites to help English speaking businesses have a presence on the web. All of our websites have a very good presence on Google, Yahoo and other major search engines, so by including your business name onto our websites it helps to give your business a link".

How come it is free and will that change later and if so how much will it be?

Above is a very relevant question asked by one advertiser, Charlie Habin, a garden maintainance business based near to Villedieu les Poeles.

It is Free simply because our ethos at PennyGraphics is helping each other. Its all about links, Normandy Magazine is a website that has been running for sometime, is easily found on the search engines and gets loads of hits. At the moment we have no plans to charge for any advertorial or adverts that we put into the website of course if you find the service useful we accept donations.

So if you have a business or offer a service in Normandy then contact us to be listed in Normandy Magazine.
